As a veterinarian, Dr. K.D. Marahar has had the pleasure of serving the fur families of the Calgary community for over eight years. Dr. Marahar graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), India in 2000. She also completed her Master’s degree in internal medicine to further advance her knowledge of veterinary medicine. As the owner of this practice, she is dedicated to serving the community for many years to come.

She thoroughly enjoys all aspects and daily surprises of small animal veterinary medicine as well as the relationships she has developed with clients over the years. Dr. Marahar always looks forward to meeting new clients and patients, but it brings her great joy to walk into a room and be greeted by all the familiar faces and furry friends she has made at the Silverado Veterinary Hospital. She strives to provide each and every patient and client with a pleasant experience – one that surpasses expectations and lives up to the highest of standards.

When she is not diagnosing, treating, and caring for your furry friend, you can find her spending quality time with her husband and their two beautiful children.

Dr. Emilia Balc is a licensed veterinarian who first obtained her license in Romania in 1997. She worked as a partner in a veterinary clinic until 2006, when she immigrated to Canada with her family. Her love for animals began early in life, as she grew up with German Shepherds and later trained this breed. This experience helped to guide her career and allowed her to gain a deep understanding of animal behavior. Throughout her career, Dr. Balc has worked in a variety of veterinary clinics and emergency hospitals, and she has a strong commitment to serving animals. In recent years, she has expanded her knowledge to include acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathy, and herbology in order to take a more holistic approach to animal care. She has a particular interest in using these modalities to extend the lives of her patients and help senior patients feel more comfortable and free of pain. When she is not at the clinic, Dr. Balc can often be found hiking, cycling, walking or spending time with her family and pets. Currently, Dr. Balc has four pets of her own - a pomchi, two cats, and a canary.

I have a very keen interest in developing and furthering my knowledge in animal health to bring you and your furry family the best care possible. I have a love for Dachshunds and furry friends alike. In my free time you will find me spending quality time with my 9-year-old son, my 1-year-old Rescue dog named Jett and 9 year old Dachshund/Chihuahua named Emma.

Hi! My name is Jaida, I am a recent RVT grad from Olds College. All my life I have been deeply connected with animals and I knew I would work closely with them no matter what I chose to do. I have a profound love of educating others and taking care of animals, so the veterinary industry was a perfect mix of both. At home, I have a beautiful cat named Stella and a mischievous horse named Gunner. In my free time you can find me spending time with my family and friends, drawing, or playing Dungeons & Dragons.

I received my animal health technology diploma from Lakeland College in 2021 and I love animals of all shapes and sizes. Outside of work, I also enjoy music, gaming, hiking and design, as well as taking for Cornelia, my corn snake.

Hello, my name is Miguel, I was born and raised in Brazil, I have a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the ICESP university center since 2019. Since my graduation, I have worked in clinics offering the best care for pets, especially for feline patients who are my true passion, Due to my love for cats, I focused my services exclusively on them, following cat-friendly practices with the aim of becoming a feline specialist in the future.

I moved to Canada in 2022 to study as a veterinary assistant, where I graduated from Bow Valley College. I've always dreamed of living in another country and discovering new experiences, especially in the veterinary field.

In my free time I like to dedicate myself to music which is my favorite hobby, I also like to spend quality time with my fiancée, friends and family, when I go for a walk I like to seek out nature or enjoy the nightlife, concerts, theater and others I currently live with my 10-year-old cat Félix. I confess that the trip to Canada was the biggest air challenge of his life.

I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work in the veterinary field. When I’m not working you can find me either hikinh in the mountains or spending quality time with my 3 beautiful children, my 5-year-old black lab named Marley and my 3-year-old Persian cat named Pibbles.
